About
CRIMSON (Counter Research in Media Studies Organized Network) is a new cross-institutional research network that centres research on marginalised, precarious, contentious, and often silenced communities. It supports media scholars and activists undertaking politically and emotionally complex work in challenging environments, including closed authoritarian regimes, and whose research directly confronts state and institutional power.

CRIMSON includes members from King's College London, the University of Cambridge, Loughborough University, the University of Sussex, the University of Exeter, and KU Leuven, working across diverse geopolitical such as China, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Israel/Palestine.
